Local 19 (Prairie Co-op) bargaining – Mediator appointed

Tuesday MEMBERS’ MEMO – July 2, 2024

After filing for mediation assistance on June 10, GSU bargaining committee spokesperson Mason Van Luven has received word that a mediator has been appointed to assist the parties.

Even though the union and company bargaining committees had made progress at the bargaining table on June 4, 5 and 6, a significant difference on compensation remained. This left the GSU committee with a difficult decision on how to proceed, leading them to file a Notice of Impasse.

The current collective agreement expired on Oct. 31, 2023.
