Bargaining begins January 27, 28 & 29
Bargaining dates have been set for January 27, 28, and 29, with February 3, 4, and 5, available for additional dates. GSU staff representative Jordan Cousins has worked closely with the bargaining committee to review and finalize the bargaining proposal package.
Verna Millard and Adam Kozlowski have been elected as the bargaining committee members for Local 17. They will be supported by Cousins and GSU general secretary Steve Torgerson throughout the bargaining process.

GSU staff representative Jordan Cousins has assumed responsibility for Local 17 and is currently reviewing the files to get bargaining underway. Earlier this year, GSU served Discovery Co-op with Notice to Bargain, and the employer has responded by naming its bargaining committee.
Bargaining dates and the proposal package will be finalized shortly. The current collective agreement expired on October 31, 2025, but it remains in effect until a new agreement is negotiated and ratified.

The employer has responded to our Notice to Bargain by naming its bargaining committee.

Local 17 (Discovery) Co-op collective agreement bargaining – notice to bargain has been served

The employer has been served with our Notice to Bargain, officially signaling the union’s intent to negotiate a renewed collective agreement.
With the current collective agreement between GSU Local 17 and Discovery Co-op set to expire on October 31, 2025. In preparation, Local 17 members are working on their bargaining proposals with support from GSU staff, who have been helping fine-tune ideas and assemble a comprehensive bargaining package.
The current agreement will remain in effect until a new agreement is ratified by members.
Updates will be shared directly with members and posted online as preparations continue. As always, member involvement and input will be key to shaping a strong, responsive new contract.
