Members to vote June 10 on employer’s final offer

The democratic process is in full swing for GSU Local 6. On Wednesday, June 10, all Local 6 members will have the opportunity to vote on the employer’s final one-year contract offer.

“Throughout these negotiations, your bargaining committee members Logan, Vishal, and Andrew have brought knowledge, dedication, and strength to the table,” said GSU staff rep and bargaining committee spokesperson Donna Labelle. “They’ve been fully committed to getting the best possible outcome for the members they represent.”

Now, the final decision rests with the members.

Union committee awaiting a formal response from company management

The Local 6 bargaining committee met with the employer, May 20 to continue driving our collective bargaining efforts forward. Following this session, the committee is currently awaiting a formal response from the employer, which is expected early this week.

Once received, negotiations will resume. Your bargaining committee remains optimistic and focused. Our goal throughout this entire process is to secure a fair contract that directly reflects the priorities, needs, and goals raised by our members at Wild West Steelhead.

Union and employer committees meet for first round of collective agreement renewal negotiations

April 17, 2026

On April 14, the Local 6 bargaining committee met with WildWest Steelhead representatives to begin negotiations for a new collective agreement.

The session was productive with both sides presenting their initial proposals. We are pleased to report meaningful progress on several key priorities. While much work remains, the momentum is positive.

Bargaining is set to resume May 20. Updates will be shared as they become available.

Local 6 (Wild West Steelhead) bargaining scheduled for April 14

The first round of collective agreement renewal negotiations is set to begin on April 14 in Lucky Lake.

Members previously met with GSU staff rep and lead negotiator Donna Labelle on Feb. 11 to identify priorities for upcoming bargaining and elect their committee.
